ICC Milestone event in Lisbon: Cities with developed intercultural policies have higher quality of life index

On 28 and 29 November in Lisbon, as part of the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities project, a Milestone event was held at which three representatives of Rijeka 2020 participated – Development and Strategic Partnerships Director Irena Kregar Šegota, Culture Director Mara Anjoli Vujić, and 27 Neighbourhoods programme manager Branka Cvjetičanin.

Many interactive workshops were held at the event, and Branka Cvjetičanin participated at the work meeting of the ICC’s STEPS sub-programme through which 27 Neighbourhoods secured 35 thousand euro for the development of activities concerning migrations, participation and community development.

The Intercultural Cities (ICC) project has begun in 2008, originally as a pilot initiative involving 11 cities. Since then it has developed into an influential coalition with over 100 member cities, one of which is Rijeka, which promote intercultural integration – the development of policies regarding migrants based on recognising the potential in including them in society.
