Kombinat and CAS Praputnjak selected to participate in Tandem Fryslân. Congratulations!

Over 100 organisation applied to the Tandem Fryslân project, and 22 (11 from Fryslân and 11 from other European regions) have been selected to present their work and project at the Tandem Fryslân Partner Forum held from 20 to 25 November 2017. We are delighted to announce that Creative Collective Kombinat and Cultural Artistic Society Praputnjak from Rijeka are among the selected.

The Partner Forum programme was created as an opportunity for all candidates to get to know each other by sharing ideas and experiences through an interactive mix of informal meetings and presentations. All candidates had ample time to recognize and meet their potential Tandem Fryslân partner before forming the tandems. After establishing partnerships, each tandem prepared a programme with a detailed plan for collaboration and ideas.

Soon after the Partner Forum, an expert committee selected 7 out of the 11 created tandems which will become a part of a wide international network, as well as receive financial and expert mentorship support in order to develop their ideas and establish a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.

Leeuwarden, the administrative centre of the Dutch province Fryslân is the European Capital of Culture in 2018 with the topic “iepen mienskip – open community”. The Tandem programme and LF2018 are joining forces to create Tandem Fryslân, with the aim of collecting ideas and experiences of the Frisian community and wider Europe, including Rijeka 2020 as a partner organisation.

Tandem is a programme of cultural cooperation with the purpose of empowering communities and the European civil society, designed as a facilitator for sharing similar experiences from across Europe. The programme encourages seeking innovative solutions, developing long-term collaborations of cultural agents working in Fryslân and other regions throughout Europe. The programme will be enacted on different levels, providing individuals with professional support, as well as support for organisational process and creating the framework for experimentation with innovative ideas.

Throughout the year, the participants will regularly meet for the purpose of networking, holding workshops and sharing experiences. The Tandems will hold a final presentation at the end of the project and the possibility to connect with the growing Tandem network will be created.

Tandem Fryslân, implemented jointly with Keunstwurk, was developed by Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, European Cultural Foundation and MitOst, with support from Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and Rijeka – European Capital of Culture 2020.
