Bestowing the title of European Capital of Culture 2020 upon Rijeka prompted the formation of a strong production team that will implement a plethora of programmes during the preparation period and in 2020, when Rijeka takes on the title of ECoC.

Tandem is a cooperation programme connecting various European workers in culture by offering them a networking platform for joint projects (created in tandem), also by providing professional and financial aid.
Experts with experience in cultural branding, such as Erik Kessels, MUZE, Kai Amberla and Miguel Rivas, along with a number of Croatian keynote speakers, will gather in one place and discuss branding trends and challenges at the "Branding of culture" international conference, which will be organised as part of the Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture project and the Classroom programme from 28 February to 2 March 2019 at RiHub in Rijeka.
LAB for European Project making is an educational cycle for cultural workers, especially cultural managers and producers, who want to strengthen their management skills in implementing large-scale international projects.
