This traditional international puppetry festival plans to present a special ECoC programme in 2019 comprising international shows, interactive programmes and workshops and presentations.

An indispensable part of this year’s Revue will be the European Capital of Culture at the Revue programme characterised by an explorative and innovative approach to puppetry, intended for children of various ages, who are also the focal point of the Children’s House flagship with the participation of the Rijeka City Puppet Theatre, as one of the flagship’s most prominent partners.

Ticket sales and booking at regular prices begin on the 21 October 2019.

This year’s Revue will feature puppet shows performed by renowned puppeteers and puppet theatres from Croatia and abroad. We will get to enjoy world-class puppet productions from 6 Croatian theatres, as well as those coming from Slovenia, Finland, Germany, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina some of which form a part of the ECoC programme at the Revue.

The following exhibitions will also be held as an accompanying part of the programme: “90 years of UNIMA” by Livija Kroflin and Ivan Špoljarec and “Puppets take over Croatia in 1920.” by Antonija Bogner Šaban. The event will also feature puppetry workshops and playrooms for children, as well as the emerging play “Emperor’s New Clothes”, a co-production of the Rijeka City Puppet Theatre and the Maribor Puppet Theatre.
