The works of selected artists, who produced their artworks as a reaction to what they had seen following a visit to the camp on Goli Otok, will be presented on large posters throughout Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
The project consists of the works made by forty or so artists as a reaction to what they saw after visiting the camp on Goli Otok island in the period from 2016 to 2018. With their works, performances and installations in situ, the artists send a message saying that the places where crimes were committed should remain places of remembrance, education and memory.
The artistic production of the project manager Darko Bavoljak (HR), curator Jasmina Bavoljak (HR) and designer Igor Kuduz (HR) is focused on large posters of artistic works adapted to transmit messages to the public so that they could reach as many observers as possible.
Fifteen of the best visual designs will be displayed at various locations in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County continuously throughout the year of the official Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture programme.
