The Department of Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, in cooperation with Rijeka 2020 – ECOC, launches two new professional training courses starting this academic year.
From 12 to 14 October Rijeka will be host to Smoqua – the first festival of queer and feminist culture – organised by LORI with the support of Rijeka 2020 as part of the Kitchen flagship.
The annual conference of the ECoC family, ‘Living Cities, Liveable Spaces: Placemaking & Identity’, will take place between the 22 and 24 November in Valletta.
Researching a future no longer dominated by humans, the exhibition displays new media works by acclaimed international artists Tim Arnall, Ignas Krunglevičius, Nicolas Maigret, Maria Roszkwoska, Yuri Pattison, Sascha Pohflepp, Suzanne Treister, Addie Wagenknecht and Pinar Yoldas.
Participants will go through intensive workshops and lectures over the course of 9 days in 3 cities, and listen to international experts like Birgitta Persson (Olivearte), Francois Matarasso (participative art and community art), Julia Pagel (NEMO head secretary), Adam Jeanes (Music/Art Council, UK) and many others.
