The 17th Festival of the European Short Story, with the theme of Heritage, will present globally renowned authors to audiences in Rijeka and Zagreb.
Some of them include Jan Carson, Carys Davies, Andrei Kurkov, Flavio Soriga, Suzana Tratnik, Tea Obreht, Ben Okri, Inga Žolude and others.
Through their stories and conversations, the authors will contemplate on all forms of heritage: familial, historical, ideological, national, gender and racial. In addition, by hosting acclaimed regional (Slovenia, Austria, Italy…) authors and professionals we can touch upon many topics regarding literature in the region, cultural contact and exchange.
As organised by the Croatian Writers Society, the audience in Rijeka will be able to enjoy short form masterpieces and taste the welcoming warmth of the Festival of the European Short Story on 31 May and 1 June. This year’s edition of FESS is part of the ECoC programme through the Kitchen flagship.
