On March 13th young musicians from Rijeka Juraj Marko, Matej and Monika Žerovnik with guests will present a concert commemorating the early passing of Linda Žeželić-Žerovnik, a professor from the Rijeka music school. The concert will take place in Circolo (The Building of the Italian Community of Rijeka – Comunità degli Italiani di Fiume) and the entrance is free of charge.

The concert Evening of Harmony will give the audience an opportunity to enjoy important pieces from solo and chamber music repertoire composed by the likes of Beethoven, Brahms and Poulenc. All the pieces are going to be performed by young musicians. The performers are going to be: pianist and composer Juraj Marko, violinist Matej and cellist Monika Žerovnik. Furthermore, there are going to be pianists Stipe Bilić, Teja Komar (Slo) and Sven Brajković, saxophonist Andrej Omejc (Slo) and cellist Janko Franković. Lastly, awards are going to be handed out to the students of the Music School Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Rijeka that have scored the highest on the Solfeggio knowledge quiz. The event will be closed with performance of the Music School’s mixed choir.

Linda Žeželić-Žerovnik was a music theory professor that taught at the Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Music School in Rijeka. Thanks to her selfless work, many generations of musicians have continued and consequently successfully finished their music education. A large number of her former students have established great careers and are now active both domestically and internationally. The concert Evening of Harmony is an opportunity for former students, current distinguished musicians, to return to Rijeka and to help the development of the Rijeka music scene with their craft.
