European Commission issues positive monitoring meeting report for Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture

The European Commission published on its website the report on the second stage of the EU monitoring panel for the project Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture.

In the report, the expert group “commends the excellent work that Rijeka 2020 has done since its nomination and the first monitoring meeting, and welcomes the progress achieved as well as the plans for the coming years”.

The members of the EU panel conducted the monitoring in Rijeka on 28 and 29 June 2018. The expert group had an opportunity to visit several key locations of Rijeka 2020, and received political and institutional support as well as the support of the civic sector for the project which “emphasizes the positive development of preparations for the ECoC Rijeka 2020”.

The third and final monitoring meeting of the EU panel members for the project has been announced for autumn 2019, to be held in Galway, Ireland.
