The delegation from Oulu, Finland, a European Capital of Culture 2026 candidate city, will be staying in Rijeka and on the islet of Unije from 12 to 15 November 2019.
The first visits of artists from home and abroad have begun to happen in two of the 27 Neighbourhoods of the European Capital of Culture project.
In cooperation with the Youth Council of the City of Opatija, the Žmergo Association invites artists and interested public to apply for projects in culture within the OKiZA 2019. (Opatija Culture and Green Activism) program, part of the Opatija's Neighborhood of programmatic direction of 27 Neighborhoods, as part of the Rijeka 2020 - European Capital of Culture project.
The programme will be introduced to the media and the public in succession over September and October and divided into seven themed flagships, with each providing an array of separate programmes and projects.
The Čavle Neighbourhood of the Rijeka 2020 - European Capital of Culture (ECoC) project hosted an event dubbed the Bell-ringer's Symphony! The event took place on Friday, 23 August at the Croatian Homeland War Veterans’ Square in the municipality of Čavle.
Eco means the house, home, surroundings or environment we live in.
The pilot edition of the festival was a showcase of the extreme versatility and endless possibilities offered by the accordion, an instrument that is played around the globe and applicable to all musical genres, from classical music to jazz and pop all the way to folk music from various regions.
