TIMETABLE OF EVENTS FOR MEDIA

This is where all the media releases and free photos will be published throughout the ECoC opening day, along with all other information relevant to media.

This map is created for the needs of media representatives. The map shows all the important city points at the date of the opening of ECoC Rijeka 2020, along with the locations of all-day programme events, the central programme in Rijeka Port and PRESS location.

Friday, 31st January – a day before the opening of the European Capital of Culture

8.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. PRESS CENTRE RIJEKA 2020

(Ri Hub, 1a Ivana Grohovca St)

– media representatives can pick accreditations and Press kits by showing a valid ID (or press card)

5 p.m. – OPENING OF EXHIBITION “WITH THE COLLECTION“ BY DAVID MALJKOVIĆ

(Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, 26c Krešimirova St)

– Exhibition “With the Collection”

– exhibition opening for media representatives and European guests (including the ministers of culture from South-East Europe)

7 p.m. – NIGHT OF MUSEUMS

– Programme of Night of Museums in Rijeka

6 p.m. – 11 p.m. – REHEARSALS FOR OPERA INDUSTRIALE, CENTRAL PROGRAMME OF THE OPENING OF ECoC

(Rijeka Port, Main stage at De Franceschi Pier, site for filming and coverage: TV korner and Molo longo breakwater)

–  final rehearsal of Opera Industriale from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

– possibility of rehearsals’ coverage, live reporting and short filming of rehearsals from the position of TV Corner and Molo Longo breakwater (access with press ground pass)

Saturday 1st February – Opening Day

8 a.m. – 10 p.m. TEMPORARY PRESS CENTRE DURING THE OPENING OF ECOC

8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. – issuing of media accreditations

7 a.m. –  4 a.m. ALL-DAY OPENING PROGRAMME

(All-day programme on multiple locations – map with marked locations)

All day opening programme – timetable with locations and description

In addition – programmes with organizers’ contacts

2 p.m. Photographs and media release from the morning part of the all-day programme

– press releases and photographs from the part of programme taking place at multiple locations throughout the city will be available at Press section of web 

2.30 p.m. MEDIA CONFERENCE WITH ORGANIZERS

(PRESS CENTRE, Botel Marina, Rijeka Port, Adamić Pier)

– participants: Mayor of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel, Head of City Department for Culture Ivan Šarar, Rijeka 2020 CEO Emina Višnić, Rijeka 2020 CEO for Partnerships and Communications Irena Kregar Šegota

– the option of recording individual statements (according to former requests submitted through the media accreditation forms and emails)

3.30 p.m. MEDIA CONFERENCE WITH ARTISTIC TEAM

– participants: director of central event in Rijeka Port Dalibor Matanić, authors of musical framework for Opera Industriale JMZM (Zoran Medved, Josip Maršić), composer and author of orchestration maestro Frano Đurović

5 p.m.–  7.25 p.m. Live-reporting

(TV CORNER, VIP ZONE near Boonker, Rijeka Port)

– according to the previously arranged schedule with TVs

Notice: entrance into VIP Zone enabling a passage to TV Corner is possible only in company of personnel in charge of media)

5 p.m. Celebration at Croatian National Theatre Ivana pl. Zajc

– following the live broadcast at PRESS CENTRE

– availability of all necessary media materials: programme, speeches, guests, biographies of performers, subsequently the event’s photos as well

6.45 p.m. – 7.15 p.m. VIP guests arriving from the Croatian National Theatre Ivana pl. Zajca to VIP zone

(FOTO POINT at VIP ZONE Boonker, Rijeka Port)

– possibility of photographing guests during their arrival, in front of VIP Zone

7 p.m. Media release and photographs from the Celebration at Croatian National Theatre Ivana pl. Zajca

7.30 p.m. – 8.30 pm CENTRAL OPENING PROGRAMME OPERA INDUSTRIALE

(Rijeka Port)

– possibility of coverage for media representatives:

• PRESS CENTRE Botel Marina – canvas projector screen, screens in salons, coverage from the ship’s prow and from the upper deck

– possibility of coverage for camera operators and photo reporters:

• PRESS PIT in front of the main stage
• PRESS CENTRE, ship’s prow of Botel Marina
