A concert of 45 passionate musicians who come from 20 different countries.
The Mahler Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1997 as a unique international ensemble, dedicated to the creating and sharing of the experience of classical music of musicians from around the world. With 45 members from 20 different countries, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra is a collective of passionate musicians who get together for specific tours around the world.
The concert is led by Leif Ove Andsnes, a pianist who many describe as the most talented musician of his generation.
So far the Orchestra has performed in more than 40 countries on 5 continents, and the concert in Rijeka is their first performance in Croatia.
In the programme are Joseph Haydn: Symphony no. 83 La Poule (Allegro spiritoso), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano concerto no. 20 in D minor, Joseph Haydn: Symphony no. 85 La Reine and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano concerto no. 21 in C major.
