The 26th Interstas, a tourism, film and landscape festival event, the 22nd ITF’CRO Tourism Film Festival and the 17th KEA-CRO – presentation of candidate Croatian cities/towns for the Communities in Bloom 2019 Award were held in Solin from 13 to 16 November under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.
A total of 325 tourism promo videos from 87 countries were submitted for this year’s Interstas, with the winners receiving their awards at the closing ceremony, which was held yesterday at the President Hotel. All three events, the 26th Interstas, the 22nd ITF’CRO and the 17th KEA – CRO, were enhanced by an eventful accompanying programme, which included numerous presentations and business meetings.
This year, Rijeka was the shining star of Interstas, with the Mayor of Rijeka Mr. Vojko Obersnel receiving the Interstas 2019 Special Award, the Rijeka Tourist Board receiving the Gold Interstas 2019 Award and the renowned Croatian film director Dalibor Matanić and the production company Filmerija d.o.o. winning the festival award for their excellent tourism promo video of Rijeka as the European Capital of Culture. Mr. Petar Škarpa, Director of the Rijeka Tourist Board, accepted the awards at the closing ceremony,which was held at the President Hotel in Solin.
The promo film was shot in various attractive locations in Rijeka and reflects the symbolism of the Port of Diversity, which is showcased by Rijeka as the holder of the European Capital of Culture 2020 title.
