After graduating in Culturology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, she earned her Master’s degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb and honed her skills in the local media. As a long-time volunteer at the Rijeka Animal Protection Society, she decided to put everything she had learned to good use and began submitting applications for projects dealing with the responsible treatment of animals. The project caught the attention of the Dogs Trust, the largest dog welfare charity in the UK, which provided Ivana with the opportunity to engage the community and educate more than 4000 children in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

In addition to managing the project for two years, she also ran educational workshops for children and young people and co-wrote the puppet play How Toro Became Victor. Although Ivana enjoyed managing the project, she couldn’t resist working in culture with as many as 27 communities, which is why she didn’t think twice before accepting the position of Senior Expert Associate at 27 Neighbourhoods.
